Jacob and Sarah had nine children in Pennsylvania. After Sarah's death, it is believed Jacob left his children with the Boone in-laws and traveled to explore the "Valley of Virginia."

It is also speculated that Bishop William Stover (abt 1725-1800) was closely related to Jacob, the Pioneer of the Valley of Virginia and other Stovers.
