    Other Events:

    • Birth: Virginia; The hand-written Creamer-Stover-Watt document surfaced in 2020, which states Nimrod Stover had a brother named Jacob. It's not fully certain as to which Nimrod it means. There are more than one.
    • Deed: 22 Jun 1832, Hardy County, Virginia; Jacob Stover Jr sold land; 157 1/2 acres at Middle Mountain for $40 to Joseph Evans of Hardy Co. Amounts to one half of the tract that was conveyed by William Greenwood and wife to Jacob Stover Jr on 29 Apr 1830.
    • Residence: Bef 1850, Clarksburg, Harrison County, Virginia; According to Creamer-Stover-Watt research Jacob moved his family (except Jane and Ann, who moved later) from Clarksburg, VA (now W. VA) to Ohio about 1850.
    • Residence: 19 Jul 1850, District 23, Hardy County, Virginia; 1850 Census: Jacob Stover 40, wife Elizabeth Ann Stover 33, Wm Henry Stover 17, Benjn T Stover 14, Ann Eliza Stover 11, Jane H Stover 9, Saml Smith Stover 7, Sarah E Stover 5, Jacob Israel Stover 3 Martha Frances Stover 1.

    • Death of Jacob Stover, December 1875: 30 Dec 1875, Washington, Ohio; Small pox.

    Notes:

Jacob's parents can not be 100% certain, but were thought to be Jacob Stover 1753-1816 and Dorothy Neff based primarily on the McNabbs Stover History documents. The trouble is neither Jacob (nor possible brother Nimrod) are mentioned in Jacob's 1816 will. A mystery. The hand-written Creamer-Stover-Watt document surfaced in 2020, which states prominently that Nimrod Stover had a brother named Jacob. There is evidence that another Nimrod Stover (1805-1823) was son of Christian Stover Jr. and Susanna Funk. Daniel Bly expresses there are two distinct Nimrods. Information for Nimrod Stover 1803-1880 is prevalent and would likely be the best choice to be a brother of Jacob. But of course, confusion never gives up.Daniel Bly has speculated that *Jacob Stover of Hardy County* may be a son of Mary Stover, who apparently had children named Jacob and Mary without benefit of marriage. Mary is Christian Stover Junior's sister. This Mary was mentioned in Christian Junior's 1815 will along with her children Jacob and Mary. Birth and death for Mary is not known. If Bly is referring to THIS Jacob, who was b. 1809, I think it unlikely Mary had a son born 1809, because that is probably too late to be her son.

    Birth:
Jacob's parents are not certain, but have been thought to be Jacob Stover 1753-1816 and Dorothy Neff, as stated in the McNabbs research.
