At times a question has been raised about whether Francis had a son Francis who married Susanna Soule, the dau. of George Soule. Recent and more exhaustive research, which was undertaken during the preparation of Volume 3 of Mayflower Families failed to establish the identity of Susanna's husband. It was concluded that his name was probably something other than West, although the volume assigns the name West to all of his descendants. Descendants of Francis and Susanna (Soule) West found in article published in Soule Newsletter (Soule Kindred), Vol. 2, No. 1, January 1968, entitled, "SUSANNA SOULE'S HUSBAND IDENTIFIED.
