      Parents of Nicholas Howland:
The writer has been unable to find any record evidence of the parentage of Nicholas, but two facts leads to the undoubted conclusion that he was the son of Zoeth, namely: His widow was the native of a town adjoinging the one where Daniel (93) owned a ferry, and he may have been in Daniel's employ at the time; again, he settled close by Nathaniel (91) and Henry (94) all of whom were without a doubt his brothers. He was probably the youngest child, and his name did not get on the public records.
