    • Deed 27 Jul 1804 John Stauffer & wife Margaret to Abraham Miller.
      This dee describes the history of this land granted by the honorable John Penn, Thomas Penn and Richard Penn Esquire late Proprietaries of Pennsylvania, by grant on 2 May 1745 to Ulrich Stauffer (by name of Woolrick Stopher).
      Ulrich Stauffer died, leaving his will dated 22 Jun 1746, giving his plantation to to his son John Stouffer for 26 pounds payable to John's sisters; Magdalena, wife of Peter Yordy; and Barbara, wife of Henry Killhover.
      Then in a deed dated 26 Feb 1760 , another 26 pounds paid by John Stauffer to his sisters.
      John Stauffer then deeded the land, called "Stouffersburg," situated in Martick Township, to his son John Stauffer, a tract of 100 acres, dated 3 Jul 1798 (4 months before John Sr's death).
      John Stauffer then died, bearing a will dated 27 Nov 1798, which bequeathed the planation to his son John Jr., while leaving a :Pecuniary Legacy" and specific articles to his wife Margaret. John Sr also bequeathed to his sons David and Peter (who was dec'd) equal shares. The remainder of his estate was left to his children; Margaret wife of John Line; Ann wife of Conrad Heble; Magdalena wife of John Schenck; John Stauffer and David Stauffer. Children of Peter Stauffer dec'd were left with a equal share. Margaret, daughter of John Sr and wife of John Line, died after John Sr's will was made without issue.
      Peter Stauffer dec'd left 6 childen: Esther wife of Jacob Hurst; John, Elizabeth wife of Jacob Frost, Jacob, Christian, and Margaret.
      These land composing of multiple tracts and a plantation sold to Abraham Miller, who owned adjacent lands.
