      Martha died when Theodore was very small. Wm.Thomas remarried, his second wife also died early intheir marriage, William Thomas died aboard ship (smallpox outbreak) off coast of California while en route to Monterey where he planned to invest in a hotel business. He was buried at sea. He had sold his interest in a Eureka Hotel.
