Hello Arlene:
I don't have much information to offer you on William & Suzanner. James Brent was named guardian of Samuel & Issac (Mon)Creef during the March term of 1792. Lydia Creef was named as wife in the will of Thomas Moncreef dated 28 Feb. 1793. He left a son John, daughters Liddy & Jullen & wife Liddy. It was witnessed by John Brent, friend. Lydia's will of 26 Mar.1795 list daughters Esther Fletcher & Julia & Lydia (both under l6) son John (under 16). I think your William & Lydia's husband Thomas are related.
Thomas is found in NC as early as 1723. William is found listed on a Muster List under the command of John Woodhouse in 1758.
William is also listed in the tax table of Currituck Co. in 1779. Thomas, William & William Jr. are all listed as heads of households in Currituck Co. in 1790.
In the will of John Moncrief dated 22 June 1712 it mentions sons Thomas, William, John & George & a daughter Mary. Unfortunately the names are all common & people had a habit of using them over & over again without the benefit of distinguishing one from another.
I don't know if I have rambled on....or if I have given you something you did not have....at any rate, I'm glad you are researching the Creefs. Would love to hear from you and about the lineage of Samuel & Issac........ You can email me @jadfed5@aol.com ..........Looking forward to hear from you........Judy
